CREW is proudly hosting the Green Housing Tour to allow the public see and learn about the green building advancements being made in our own community. 


Tour details:

This bus tour will take you to four different green homes in the Kitchener area. The $5 ticket covers your transportation and lunch.

Registration will be at the Duke St entrance of Kitchener City Hall** from 9:30am - 9:50am, at which time you will receive your tour folder and you will be assigned to a bus. Any unclaimed seats will be re-assigned to waiting list guests at 9:50am, so please arrive on time! The buses will depart at 10:00am.

A light lunch will be provided at the Ontario Green Home stop mid-day. Please feel free to supplement with your own snacks.

Buses will bring you back to City Hall at the end of the tours, approximately 4:00pm.

Waiting list: When pre-registration has reached capacity, interested persons can sign up on the waiting list. Any pre-registered guests who cancel or do not show up will be replaced with those on the waiting list on a first come, first serve basis between 9:50 am and 10:00 am on May 28th.

Small is Beautiful House - This private home was custom built by two real estate agents as their family home, nestled into a small "infill" lot within a heritage neighbourhood of Galt, Cambridge. It has many green features, including a "living wall", and models how a small home can be comfortable, stylish, and very efficient.

**Note to Cambridge residents: The first stop for one of the buses will be near downtown Galt. If you would like to arrange to meet the bus there please email Kristin.


Parking

In the spirit of the event, we are encouraging people to walk, bike or bus to Kitchener City Hall. If coming by bus, it is a short 3 minute walk from the Charles Street bus terminal. If you decide to drive, parking is available underground at Kitchener City Hall (enter from Young St) for a daily maximum fee of $12, or you can visit http://www.kitchener.ca/en/livinginkitchener/ParkingOptions.asp for further parking options.
